On November 29, Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, hosted the "From Youth to Future" Forum and celebrated the 40th Anniversary of its Honors Youth Program. Launched in 1985 with the Ministry of Education's approval, the program identifies young individuals with diverse talents, fostering an innovative education model that blends creativity with comprehensive development. The aim is to nurture future world-class researchers and innovators with broad knowledge, strong moral character, and an innovative spirit.


In 40 years, nearly 3,100 students have enrolled in the Honors Youth Program. Graduates have excelled in academic, research, and practical fields, significantly contributing to technology, management, education, public services, and engineering. Their professional excellence, innovation, and perseverance are vital to national development.
Yang Sen, executive vice dean of Qian Xuesen College, highlighted achievements in curriculum development, faculty building, and student cultivation. The college remains committed to Senior Qian Xuesen’s educational philosophy, aiming to break disciplinary boundaries and foster innovative thinking.
The conference also launched the Qian Xuesen College Alumni Association and Development Fund. Alumni Chen Xi and Guo Renjie shared their educational and entrepreneurial journeys, encouraging new students to think independently and embrace their generational mission.
Teacher Li Hong, shared her dedication to education, while student Ren Zhen noted that the Honors Youth Program offers a tailored curriculum and relaxed environment, fostering exploration, resilience, and responsibility.
President Zhang Liqun emphasized the importance of respecting students' individuality and potential. The university will continue to advance innovative talent training through initiatives like the Honors Youth Programand the "Everest Plan," focusing on national needs and integrating AI-assisted teaching to cultivate top-notch talents.
