The 2025 9th Silk Road Dental Academic Conference kicked off on Thursday in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China.

Jointly hosted by 11 dental associations and organized by the Stomatological Hospitals of Air Force Medical University and Xi'an Jiaotong University, the event attracted over a thousand dental professionals for three days of academic exchange. 

A key highlight was the "Centennial Famous Hospital" Construction and Development Conference, where the Stomatological Hospital of the Air Force Medical University signed agreements with over 50 military and civilian institutions, including the General Hospital of the People's Liberation Army and Peking University Stomatological Hospital. These agreements aim to enhance military oral health services, integrate military-civilian maxillofacial trauma treatment, and jointly train  graduate students, ultimately strengthening cooperation, improving service capabilities, and nurturing outstanding dental talents. 

The expert forum featured presentations by prominent figures such as Academician Wang Songling from the Southern University of Science and Technology, Academician Zhao Yimin from the Air Force Medical University, and Professor Yang Fengchi from Capital Medical University. Over 200 nationally renowned experts and scholars participated, fostering interdisciplinary communication through lectures, case analyses, and technology exhibitions.

Now in its ninth session, the conference has become an authoritative platform for cross-regional oral medicine exchanges. It emphasizes "professionalization, internationalization, and diversification," aiming to integrate cutting-edge concepts in oral medicine with clinical practice. This approach seeks to drive industry development and foster long-term cooperation between universities, enhancing the integration of academic and practical advancements in dentistry.
