The "Crossing a Thousand Years: Germany Meets China" program, organized by the School of Foreign Languages at Xidian University and the Confucius Institute at Paderborn University, concluded successfully. Over twelve days, German students explored Xi'an, Shanghai, and Suzhou, engaging in a cultural exchange that transcended language barriers through courses, site visits, and university exchanges.

A welcoming ceremony at Xidian University featured Zhang Yang, vice dean of the School of International Education, who introduced a series of activities designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of China and Xidian University. He expressed hope that the experience would foster friendship and cooperation.
Zheng Xiaomei, deputy party secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, highlighted the program as a cultural exploration and a practical exercise in mutual learning between Chinese and German civilizations. She hoped the visit would leave lasting memories.
German student representative Anna-Celine Rautenberg thanked both universities for the opportunity to experience China's history, culture, and modern development. She was excited about engaging with Chinese students and planned to share her experiences back home.
Participants toured Xidian University's History Museum, Science Museum, and AI+Education Center, showing interest in the university's technological achievements. Cultural courses included calligraphy, paper cutting, Chinese painting, and traditional martial arts, allowing students to appreciate Chinese culture deeply.
In Xi'an, the group visited the Museum of the Terra Cotta Warriors and other historic sites, experiencing the blend of ancient history and modernity. Their journey continued to Shanghai and Suzhou, further enriching their understanding of China's diverse urban landscapes.
This program is a key initiative by Xidian University to foster cultural exchanges. The university plans to enhance project design, integrating language learning, cultural experience, and technological exchange to strengthen Sino-German educational cooperation and build bridges between civilizations.
