
The 2025 High-tech Innovation and Development Conference - Future Materials and Manufacturing was held at Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi'an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China, from July 11 to 13. The pioneering event aimed to foster collaboration among industry, academia, research, and applications within the high-tech sector, offering insights for China's high-tech materials and manufacturing industry.
Hosted by Northwestern Polytechnical University and supported by 25 entities, including prestigious institution like Harbin Institute of Technology and the Shenyang Institute of Automation Chinese Academy of Sciences, the conference attracted over 1,500 attendees. The conference featured five national technology innovation centers as special cooperation units highlighting the conference’s commitment to driving technological advancement and collaboration in the field.
During the event, President Song Baowei encouraged experts and scholars to share cutting-edge achievements and explore new pathways for industrial development. Xie Shaofeng from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology highlighted recent developments in China's high-tech industry, urging collaborative efforts to advance materials and manufacturing technologies.
The conference released the "Innovation Initiative for Materials and Manufacturing in the High-tech Field," emphasizing the need for technological advancements, innovation, talent development, and global cooperation. Special sessions and dialogues covered topics such as high-end materials, intelligent manufacturing, and technology-industry integration.
With thirteen sub-venues, discussions focused on advanced materials, manufacturing technologies, and innovation ecosystems. Attendees shared over 130 academic reports, contributing to the progress of China's high-tech materials and manufacturing industry.
