
Xi’an Jiaotong University held its 116th Commencement Ceremony on June 19 in Xi’an, Shaanxi province in Northwest China.
As one of China’s premier universities located in Xi’an, the institution celebrated the undergraduate graduation and degree awarding ceremony for its 4,847 graduating students this year. During the ceremony, Lu Jianjun, the secretary of the Party Committee of Xi'an Jiaotong University, announced the decision to recognize exceptional undergraduate graduates, outstanding graduate cadres, and graduates who chose to work in key grassroots organizations in 2025.
A total of 46 graduates, who voluntarily joined grassroots units and national defense and military units in the western region for employment and were selected as outstanding students, were commended for their dedication.



Lu expressed his hope that these recognized students, along with all graduates, will continue to strive tirelessly towards building a strong nation and contributing to the grassroots-level development and rejuvenation of the country.
Zhang Liqun, the president of Xi'an Jiaotong University, emphasized that in the face of the challenges and opportunities of the current era, the university's youth should aspire to become pioneers and catalysts for change in areas such as technological innovation, rural revitalization, sustainable development, social services, national defense, global prosperity, and peacekeeping efforts.
