Northwestern Polytechnical University, in Xi’an, Shaanxi province in Northwest China, and Ali Farabi Kazakh National University, have recently signed the "China-Kazakhstan Excellent Engineering College Construction Agreement" on May 12 at the first China-Central Asia Education Ministers' Meeting in Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

The first China-Central Asia Education Ministers' Meeting yielded a series of milestones, with the establishment of the college being a prominent achievement.
At the meeting, President of Northwestern Polytechnical University Song Baowei and Kazakhstan's Minister of Science and Higher Education, Saasat Nurbek, engaged in extensive discussions regarding the construction of the Kazakhstan branch and the China-Kazakhstan Excellent Engineering College. This dialogue further delineated the cooperation's direction, fostering the deepening of educational and technological collaboration between both nations.
The China-Kazakhstan Excellent Engineering College stands as a pivotal international educational collaboration initiative orchestrated by the Chinese Ministry of Education, serving as a crucial component for China's higher education global outreach.
With a focus on the industrial development requirements of both China and Kazakhstan, the China-Kazakhstan Excellent Engineering College will draw upon the strengths of Northwestern Polytechnical University in STEM education. It aims to pioneer advanced paradigms for STEM talent cultivation in Kazakhstan, nurturing top-tier engineers equipped with international perspectives, engineering prowess, and a spirit of innovation.
This agreement marks another significant milestone following the cooperation pact on microsatellites between the Western University of Technology and Ali Farabi Kazakh National University, along with the establishment of the Sino-Kazakhstan Material Genetic Engineering and Intelligent Science "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory.
