University teams up with sports firm to enhance football talent development

Xi'an Jiaotong University, and Shaanxi Qinying Culture and Sports Co., Ltd., based in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, have inked two pivotal agreements: the "Xi'an Jiaotong University Qinying Sports Football Professional Talent Training Strategic Cooperation Agreement" and the "Qinying Sports Xi'an Jiaotong University Education Foundation Donation Agreement," embarking on a new collaborative journey to revolutionize football talent development.

According to the agreements, Qin Ying Sports and its subsidiaries have committed to investing a minimum of 250 million yuan ($34.56 million) to the Education Foundation of Xi'an Jiaotong University over the next two decades, specifically designated for the comprehensive training of football players. Additionally, Qinying Sports will allocate another 60 million yuan to construct standard football fields, enhancing the training environment for students.

The signing ceremony is held on March 18 at the Western China Science and Technology Innovation Port of the university.

Zhang Liqun, president of Xi'an Jiaotong University and an academician of the CAE, emphasized the university's rich football heritage and underscored sports education as a crucial element in fostering morality and talent development.

"This partnership seeks to pioneer a novel approach to training young football professionals that bridges universities and middle schools through collaborative efforts between educational institutions and local enterprises," Zhang  said.

Li Ying, an investor at Qin Ying Sports, highlighted that this collaboration, uniting esteemed universities and professional football clubs, offers players a pathway to harmonize academic pursuits and career growth, establishing a comprehensive development channel spanning middle school, high school, university, and beyond.

During the ceremony, Bora Milutinovic expressed that football transcends being merely a sport—it embodies a culture and spirit that motivates young individuals to chase their aspirations, foster unity, cooperation, and continual self-improvement.

"The signing of these cooperation agreements between Xi'an Jiaotong University and Qinying Sports signifies a significant stride for Chinese football within the realms of campus sports and youth training. I am confident that China will infuse fresh energy into campus football, nurturing exceptional talents for the dynamic advancement of the football industry, and heralding a new era for Chinese football," the renowned football coach concluded.
