Updated:2025-03-12

Located on the shores of the Bohai Sea, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics stands as a beacon of intellectual exchange and innovation. Embracing the challenges of the modern era, the university has launched the TUFE Thinktank+ video program, drawing upon a wealth of esteemed experts and scholars in finance, service trade, and technological innovation to share their profound insights and unique perspectives.

The focus of this initiative is to chart Tianjin's economic trajectory within the evolving historical landscape, positioning the city as a pivotal economic hub in northern China. By witnessing the transformations of the present era, these experts aim to collaboratively script a new chapter in China's economic narrative.

During the program, luminaries such as Qi Junyan from the School of Economics emphasize the crucial role of service trade in driving economic growth, advocating for further opening up of Tianjin's service trade to bolster its international competitiveness. Yu Xuewei, an associate professor from the School of Finance, underscores the importance of technology-driven finance in fostering new productive forces, urging Tianjin to innovate within the financial sector for sustained economic momentum.

Meanwhile, Liu Yubin, a professor from the School of Business, stresses the significance of deep integration between technological and industrial innovation to fortify the safety and resilience of industrial supply chains. By advocating for enhanced self-reliance in science and technology, Liu believes Tianjin can catalyze fresh impetus not only for its own economic development but also for the nation at large.

From advancements in science and technology finance to the opening-up of service trade, and the subsequent integration of scientific, technological, and industrial innovation, Tianjin is forging ahead in a coordinated manner across various sectors, laying the groundwork for a new era of high-quality economic development.

Looking to the future, Tianjin aims to bolster its urban competitiveness through a strategic focus on talent development, policy support, and industrial upgrading. By establishing a solid foundation aligned with the objectives of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), the city is poised to create favorable conditions for a successful launch into the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30), setting the stage for continued prosperity and growth.
