Updated:2025-03-03

On Saturday, the vibrant city of Xi'an in Shaanxi province, hosted the 2025 Dragon Head-Raising Xi'an Spring City Health Run, a unique event that seamlessly combined the essence of a "health run" with the richness of traditional Chinese culture. Embracing modern living concepts, this event aimed to promote physical well-being while celebrating the heritage of the region.

The event drew a diverse crowd, including thousands of enthusiastic students from local primary schools, middle schools, and universities, alongside residents eager to join in the festivities.

A striking feature of the day was the presence of teachers and students from Xi'an Kangbol Art Technician College, who adorned themselves in elegant hanfu attire, forming a majestic procession that paid homage to China's profound cultural legacy.

Moreover, students specializing in makeup at the college exhibited their artistry by meticulously crafting beloved IP characters like Nezha and Ao Bing, infusing the event with an enchanting ancient allure that captivated attendees, particularly children.

Designated areas were set up at the event for participants to engage in a hanfu makeup experience and explore Nezha-themed painting activities. Here, individuals could avail themselves of complimentary hanfu makeup services or transform into mythical characters, immersing themselves in the enchanting allure of traditional Chinese culture.

Simultaneously, skilled hairdressers from the college offered complimentary hairdressing services to visitors, honoring the -old tradition of shaving heads on the second day of the second  month of the Chinese calendar.

"We aim to inspire citizens to embrace physical activity, enhance their fitness levels, and concurrently preserve and promote the rich tapestry of traditional Chinese culture through this innovative approach," remarked Li Hongqiang, the esteemed dean of Xi'an Kangbol Art Technician College.

The 2025 Dragon Head-Raising Xi'an Spring City Health Run event not only encouraged healthy living practices but also served as a vibrant platform for fostering a deeper appreciation for China's cultural heritage among participants of all ages.
