The Shaanxi Robot Industry Matchmaking Conference 2024 took place on December 27 at the Xi'an Innovation Design Center in Beilin district, Xi’an, in Shaanxi. The event aimed to catalyze the high-quality development of Shaanxi's robotics industry chain by leveraging technological innovation as a catalyst for enhanced productivity.

Drawing in over 300 experts, scholars, and business representatives from the robotics industry chain and related fields, the conference focused on "Integration of Human and Machine · Intelligent Creation of the Future." It served as a platform to pool innovative resources within the robotics industry chain, exchange new achievements, build consensus, and explore new avenues for industry advancement.

"Robots are hailed as the crown jewels of the manufacturing industry, with their research, development, manufacturing, and application serving as vital benchmarks for a country's scientific and technological innovation prowess and high-end manufacturing capabilities," remarked Li Xingwang, vice chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Political Consultative Conference and a key figure in the provincial robotics industry chain.

Recognizing the strategic importance of the robotics industry, the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Government have integrated the robotics industry chain into 34 key industry chains at the provincial level. They have devised the "Shaanxi Province Robot Industry Chain Enhancement Plan (2024-2027)" and industry map, laying the groundwork for a new engine of economic growth.

In recent years, Xi'an Jiaotong University has sharpened its focus on national strategic imperatives, bolstering its foundational research and forward-looking initiatives in the realms of robotics and artificial intelligence. The university has spearheaded the establishment of the Intelligent Robot Research Institute, played a pivotal role in setting up professional bodies like the Shaanxi Robot Industry Alliance and Shaanxi Intelligent Robot Key Laboratory, and fostered the growth of multiple startups. These efforts have facilitated the translation and application of technological breakthroughs, driving industrial development and promoting high-level technological self-sufficiency and advancement.

During the conference, Mei Xuesong, a prominent figure at Xi'an Jiaotong University, delivered a keynote speech on "The Status and Development of the Robot Industry," shedding light on the industry's trajectory and future prospects.

Qiao Jianhong, representing Beilin district in Xi'an, outlined the district's strategic vision within the Qinchuangyuan Robot Industry Innovation Agglomeration Zone, emphasizing the focus on establishing a hub for robot research and development innovation. This initiative, centered on the university innovation industry belt, aims to optimize the innovation ecosystem, drive key technology and core component R&D, expand application scenarios, and foster an industrial innovation cluster.

A significant highlight of the conference was the strategic cooperation agreement signed between the Beilin District Government and Beijing Yunji Technology Co., Ltd., marking a commitment to collaborate on "multi-scenario service robot solutions."

The event also featured teams from 14 universities and 35 exhibiting companies, showcasing a diverse array of innovative robot products. Noteworthy innovations included Professor Xie Songyun's team at Northwestern Polytechnical University breaking new ground with brain-machine collaborative control technology, Professor Zhu Yaguang's team at Chang'an University also unveiled a versatile quadruped inspection robot, and Professor Yang Fuzeng's team from Northwest A&F University introducing an advanced "Apple Picking+Transportation Robot" capable of seamless apple harvesting and transportation in complex environments.

The conference was hosted by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Shaanxi Province and organized by key entities including the Bureau of Industry and Information Technology of Xi'an City, the Bureau of Science and Technology of Xi'an City, the Beilin District Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Beilin District People's Government of Xi'an City.
