Teachers and students from NPU engage in cultural exchange in Tanzania

A delegation comprising 14 teachers and students from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) recently embarked on a journey of cultural exchange, culminating in a visit to the Chinese Embassy in Tanzania on July 8. This initiative serves as a bridge fostering cultural understanding and collaboration between China and Tanzania.

During their visit to the embassy, the delegation was warmly received by Chen Mingjian, the Chinese ambassador to Tanzania. He expressed his hopes that the exchange group would immerse themselves in Tanzanian culture, engage in meaningful dialogue, and facilitate mutual learning to bolster cultural ties and people-to-people exchanges between the two nations. Chen emphasized the significance of nurturing the enduring friendship between China and Tanzania in this new era.

This cultural exchange program is part of a series of activities commemorating the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Tanzania. The delegation was graciously invited by Salim, chairman of the Tanzania-China Friendship Association and former Prime Minister of Tanzania, to partake in this enriching experience.

Moreover, this event underscores NPU's commitment to becoming a global educational powerhouse with distinct Chinese characteristics. By promoting educational cooperation and cultural exchange with Tanzania, the university aims to create a platform for youth from both countries to learn and grow together.

The highlight of the visit was the China and Tanzania Youth Cultural Exchange Gala held at the University of Dar es Salaam on the evening of July 8th. The gala, guided by the Chinese Embassy and co-organized by NPU and the University of Dar es Salaam, featured captivating performances showcasing the rich cultural heritage of both nations. From traditional Chinese music and dance to vibrant displays of Tanzanian culture, the event celebrated the diversity and beauty of each country's traditions, fostering friendship and mutual understanding among the youth participants.

In order to tell Chinese stories well in the youth exchange between China and Tanzania, the students of the exchange delegation prepared a series of cultural and artistic exhibition projects, including singing, dancing, and ethnic instrumental music performances with excellent traditional Chinese cultural characteristics.

Tanzanian students also bring performances with local characteristics, showcasing the unique charm of African culture.

The atmosphere at the party is lively, fully showcasing the diverse cultures of China and Tanzania. The youth of the two countries enhanced their friendship and deepened their understanding of each other through mutual friendship.

During the visit, the exchange group also visited the Tanzania-Zambia Railway, which symbolizes the friendship between China and Africa.

Throughout their visit, the delegation also explored iconic sites such as the Tanzania-Zambia Railway, a symbol of the enduring friendship between China and Africa. This experience provided a deeper insight into the shared history and unity between the two nations, reinforcing the importance of international cooperation in today's world.

The exchange delegation conducts more in-depth visits to universities such as Dar es Salaam and Arusha, and had direct conversations with local teachers and students.

Both sides had in-depth discussions on student exchanges, teacher visits, and other topics. Local teachers and students expressed a strong interest in Chinese culture and a keen expectation for more cultural and artistic exchanges in the future.

As a well-known university in the field of aviation, aerospace, and navigation in China, Northwestern Polytechnical University's exchange group students also provideded aviation knowledge popularization for students at Mwanza Middle School, led on-site students to make aviation models, and brought the aviation characteristics of Northwestern Polytechnical University into Mwanza, planting aviation dreams in the hearts of the middle school students.

As ambassadors of their university and country, the students from NPU engaged in educational outreach activities at Mwanza Middle School, sharing their knowledge of aviation and inspiring young minds to pursue their dreams. These initiatives not only promote cultural exchange but also grow the seeds of friendship and collaboration between the future generations of China and Tanzania.

Looking ahead, NPU remains committed to nurturing the bond between China and Tanzania through educational initiatives, fostering a deeper appreciation of each other's cultures, and empowering young people to play a pivotal role in the continued development of bilateral relations.
