1st Safe Study Abroad Promotion Month launched at XJTU

The first Safe Study Abroad Promotion Month was launched at Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU) on May 22, and the event was hosted by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) at the Ministry of Education and organized by XJTU.

Shan Zhiwei, vice president of XJTU, welcomed the guests attending the event on behalf of the university. He stated that the launch of the event at XJTU not only provided a good platform for international educational exchanges and cooperation, but also offered valuable learning opportunities for young students.

He encouraged young students to have lofty aspirations, broaden their horizons globally, cultivate a sense of patriotism, advance with the country, and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Hu Bin, a counselor from the Center for Consular Assistance and Protection at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, introduced the center's services provided to students studying abroad. He emphasized the importance of self-awareness and the concept of "safety as the top priority" for students overseas, which are the first step towards a safe study abroad experience.

He hoped that all students would successfully complete their studies and actively contribute to the development of their homeland upon their return.

Shen Xuesong, minister counselor from the Chinese Embassy in the United States, shared her thoughts on the matter in a short video. She mentioned the embassy's continuous efforts to promote safe study abroad experiences, urging students to pay attention to this and ensure a secure study environment.

During the event, Ni Zijun, honorary chairman of the Beijing Well-being Foundation, introduced the "Safe Study Abroad Health Plan". Also, Professor Qu Jianwu, a national model when it comes to ethics, delivered a keynote speech on "Patriotism and Studying Abroad".
