Plurinational Bolivian delegation visit Xidian University for exchange and collaboration

A delegation of nine members, including senators Mamani Navarro Hilarionand Ramos Socpaza Santos from the Plurinational State of Bolivia, came to Xidian University for an exchange visit on April 26, accompanied by representatives from Spain and the Shaanxi Federation of Latin America.

The delegation visit Xidian University on Friday in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, Northwest China.  

Vice President Zhang Jincheng of Xidian University welcomed the delegation, along with representatives from Xidian’s Development and Planning Department, Undergraduate School, Graduate School, Scientific Research Institute and Human Resources Department. 

A symposium chaired by Shen Yulong, director of the university’s International Cooperation and Exchange Department, was held.

Zhang Jincheng extended sincere greetings and a warm welcome to the Bolivian delegation on behalf of the university.  He briefly introduced the university's profile, ongoing international cooperation initiatives, and expressed gratitude to the Bolivian government for their support in the university's development. Zhang highlighted that this visit has laid a solid foundation for cooperation between Xidian and Bolivia, aiming to deepen collaboration in talent development, scientific research, and cultural exchanges.

"Xidian is eager to engage in friendly cooperation with Bolivia, contribute to the establishment of the Northwest and Yangtze River Delta branches of the Chinese Center of the Bolivian Academy of Sciences, and welcome Bolivian students to study at Xidian," Zhang emphasized.

Senator Mamani Navarro Hilarion discussed Bolivia's development status and its collaboration with China, expressing a willingness to enhance cooperation through teacher visits, student exchanges, and the exchange of high-level development experiences with Xidian. He also expressed hope for knowledge sharing from Xidian to benefit Bolivia.

Senator Ramos Socpaza Santos emphasized the stable cooperation between China and Bolivia. He envisioned joint efforts to establish a "Belt and Road" joint laboratory, develop the Northwest and Yangtze River Delta Branch Centers of the Chinese Center of the Bolivian Academy of Sciences, and implement systematic student exchanges.

Both sides expressed their commitment to furthering the development of the Northwest and Yangtze River Delta branches of the Chinese Center of the Bolivian Academy of Sciences, enhancing cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, and talent exchange, strengthening friendly relations between the two countries.

The symposium concluded with the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between President Fuentes Betancur Lorgia Lizeth of UAJMS Autonomous University in Bolivia and Zhang Jincheng on behalf of the two universities.
