2021 Silk Road International Symposium on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application of Aeronautics and Astronautics held at NPU

On Oct 29, the 2021 Silk Road International Symposium on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application of Aeronautics and Astronautics was held at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), Xi’an, Shaanxi province.

Cao Yan, senior counsel of the Education Department of the Shaanxi Provincial Government and Zhang Yanning, assistant to the president of NPU, delivered welcome speeches.

Zhang introduced NPU’s characteristics and advantages, as well as its achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research and international cooperation. She said the symposium would gather wisdom from various countries to promote the outcome of industry-education-research-application integration with joint efforts.

Cao pointed out that the symposium has innovated the high-level talent cultivation mechanism by establishing a good platform to foster cooperation and integration for organizations along the Silk Road in the field of aerospace. By exerting Shaanxi’s geographical and resource advantages in the aerospace industry, Xi’an will fully exploit its potential in creating a technology innovation center.

An appointment ceremony was held to award representatives of international joint supervisors who have been devoted to promoting globalized talent cultivation.

Exploring new cooperation is essential to pushing forward scientific innovation and creating mutually beneficial momentum in northwestern China. Academicians and scholars from universities and research institutes presented cutting-edge academic reports and experts from enterprises shared industry prospects. Around 20 academicians, professors and experts delivered reports in various disciplines, sharing their opinions online and on site.

The symposium has attracted around 200 participants from universities, enterprises, and research institutes in 22 countries, including Russia, Italy, the UK and Singapore.
