Tianjin University selected a dozen top scientific research achievements in the AI field for display at the 5th World Intelligence Congress (WIC) that opened on May 20.

Adhering to the concept of "high-end, international, professional and market-oriented", the university’s 12 intelligent science and technology exhibits covered the latest research progress in computer science, software development, automation, control systems, architecture, the environment, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering and other disciplines.

For example, Ming Dong’s group developed a series of core components of brain computer interaction, including the world's first mind-reading chip named ‘Brain Talker’, as well as standard adjustable multi-functional EEG amplifiers and a series of brain controlled robot systems that highlight the advantages of brain control.

There are also technologies that foster smart city and smart life, like an Intelligent Garbage Classification Guidance System, an Online Virtual Fitting Platform and Mobile Robots that can be used for express delivery, take-out and document preparation.

As one of the pioneers in the field of artificial intelligence research Tianjin University keeps pace with the world in such fields as intelligent robots, smart grids, unmanned driving and brain-computer interaction.

Its achievements in cognitive computing, machine learning, data mining, pattern recognition, computer vision, voice signal processing, natural language processing and other core theories of artificial intelligence provide strong support for the layout and innovative development of artificial intelligence.

In accordance with Tianjin's development concept of embracing the new era of intelligence and building a new intelligent economy, Tianjin University has launched the first university level guidance platform for future intelligent machines and systems, and formed an interdisciplinary development path of "artificial intelligence +" in 2020 that promotes its integration with related disciplines.
