Online workshops offer instruction on classic dances to performers around the world. The program runs from September to December.

Jointly launched by New Dance Academy, Towards Vivencia and Shaanxi Silk Road Cultural Exchange Center, the online dance workshops are carried out by the world’s top dance companies, including Beijing Dance Theater in Asia, Sydney Dance Company Australia, Akram Khan Company Europe, Vuyani Dance Theatre in Africa and Trisha Brown Dance Company in North America.

The five dance companies are hosting online courses covering their classic works, and the lessons are open to dance lovers all over the world. The program is an excellent opportunity for performers to learn and experience the exquisite skills and creative performances of top global dance groups.

All workshops are by art directors of the five dance companies, while rehearsal directors and senior dancers teach classic drama clips. All workshops start at 10:30 a.m. local time, and eight to nine hours of courses are held each weekend. Live teaching is provided through the Zoom platform, with 72 hours of course content playback for students in different time zones around the world. All workshops are hosted simultaneously in Chinese and English, and students can freely switch between Chinese and English channels.

As one of the main organizers of the online dance workshops, Shanxi Silk Road Cultural Exchange Center takes "promoting cultural exchange and seeking common development" as its purpose, takes the spirit of the Silk Road as its link, takes the mutual learning of civilizations and cultural exchange and cooperation as its theme, and aims to realize the common feelings of the people. It also strives to build an international, high-end and professional cultural exchange center.
