The fourth 2020 China (Xi'an) International 3D Printing Expo and High-end Forum was officially opened on Sept 23 in Xi’an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province.  

Jointly sponsored by Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Science and Technology Association, Xi'an Expo Affairs Center and the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Center, the Expo and forum aimed to further promote high-end equipment manufacturing in China.  

President Wang Shuguo of Xi'an Jiaotong University said at the forum that over the next ten years, as the fourth industrial revolution brings great changes to the whole of human society, high-end equipment manufacturing is a necessary condition to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. "We must have our own core competitiveness," Professor Wang said. "On the road of production, education and research, we should work together to break the wall and actively integrate into one."

More than 20 academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering were specially invited to attend the forum and four of them gave keynote speeches. They shared the application advantages of additive manufacturing and the latest research results and experiences of additive manufacturing in different fields, such as additive manufacturing of biological organs, central systems of intelligent manufacturing and technology development, and transportation management. They also provided forward-looking planning and deployment in order to further promote the development of high-end equipment manufacturing industry.

More than 150 outstanding enterprises in the industry were invited to participate in the exhibition, including scientific research institutions and universities in the field of additive manufacturing at home and abroad, and related enterprises from the whole industry chain of additive manufacturing, such as equipment R&D, new materials R&D, software and process R&D, and technical services.

As an internationally-renowned additive manufacturing industry event, the exhibitors bring with them the latest research results and technological applications, creating a large number of cooperation opportunities.
