The opening ceremony for the 2020 Global Key & Core Technology Innovation Conference took place on Sept 16 in Xi'an High-tech Industries Development Zone in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, and the event runs to Sept 17.

With its theme of "key and core tech promoting high-quality development", the event has attracted many well-known scientists, economists, entrepreneurs and investors.

They have swapped experiences and information and discussed the development of key and core technology in the new era, as well as new paths for the development of national high-tech zones.

The 2020 Xi'an key & core technology enterprise star top 30 list was released at the event, honoring top companies in the field with high growth.

In addition, the Xi'an big data resources administration bureau signed a project to jointly build a new smart city in the metropolis with tech giant Huawei Technologies Co.

Other activities at the event feature a key and core technology achievements exhibition, an artificial intelligence innovation summit and a technology factor market development conference.
