The China Economic Growth Quality Development Report (2020) release conference and the post-COVID-19 high-quality economic development forum were held at Northwest University in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi province, on July 3.

Due to the epidemic, the event was held with both an on-site ceremony and through livestreaming.

Led by Ren Baoping, professor under the Yangtze River Scholar Program of the Ministry of Education and president of the Graduate School of Northwest University, 12 series of reports have been published successively since 2009.

Each report focuses on the core problems and contradictions in the quality of economic growth at different stages of development.

The 2020 report discussed economic development logic, economic growth and its quality, world status, productivity, national planning and the historical evolution and evaluation of social security since the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

On this basis, it also studied the practical problems of high-quality economic development, high-quality development supply system creation and supply-side structural reform.

After the conference, more than 50 experts and scholars from Shaanxi provincial government agencies, universities and research institutes conducted discussions and exchanges on the high-quality economic development in the era after the epidemic.
